our laboratory provides personalised quotes
We work with a variety of items: paintings, drawings, sculptures, icons, textiles, wood, ceramics, porcelain, bronze, archaeological artefacts and other cultural objects. You can request an additional translation of the file into English, Italian or Russian.
Contact us
Please email us with a photo of your item, its dimensions and any other information you think is relevant. All correspondence is confidential.
Quote
Our team of technical experts will provide a free quote based on the type and number of tests required (imaging, samples, research).
Book an appointment
We will arrange an appointment for you to bring the item to us. In certain cases, our experts can travel to carry out an on-site assessment, either in France or elsewhere in the world. A 50% deposit is required upon signing the quotation.
Results
Depending on the complexity and the number of works currently in progress, our team will generally take a week to process your case. The maximum processing time is one month. Faster, priority processing is available on request. Once the report is ready, you will be invited to collect your item and pay the remaining 50%.
Our methodology
The quality of the analyses depends on the performance of the instruments used and the rigour of the protocol, which generally proceeds as follows:
- Examination of the artwork under various magnifications
- Scientific imaging (UV, LR, Macro, IR, False colour, X-ray)
- Non-destructive analyses (XRF, FT-IR)
- Invasive analyses (XRF with sampling, FT-IR with sampling, SEM-EDS)
When taking micro-samples, we always respect the integrity of the artwork, use only sterile tools and examine them under a microscope.
We carry out all of these tests on our premises.
For SEM analysis, we examine the samples in collaboration with Mr Boudouma from ISTeP (CNRS-UPMC).
Our portable instruments enable us to carry out work on site.
Only dendrochronology and C14 analysis are carried out by our partners using samples prepared by us.
Artworks entrusted to ARTANALYSIS are always examined and stored within the laboratory under the best conditions for preventive conservation and security.
